Taobao Tmall Hong Kong announced today (15th) the launch of 2025 Double 11 Global Shopping Festival, becoming the first Double 11 event with zero threshold free shipping.

Following the launch of a zero threshold one item free shipping trial in Hong Kong starting mid-August, consumer response has been enthusiastic, with order volumes showing significant growth, Pei Xi, Head of Taobao Tmall Hong Kong Business Unit, said. Since August, the initiative also attracted many new users who rarely shop online.

Therefore, Taobao Hong Kong decided to make this offer permanent, allowing almost all lightweight and small-sized items to be shipped free to self pick-up sites, with the number of items involved increasing to 1 billion, and the expected subsidy amount exceeding RMB1 billion. Pei added that zero threshold free shipping has become a long-term offer, with no internal deadline set for its termination.
