HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) has decided to suspend its independent asset management business in Hong Kong and Singapore, due to business strategy considerations, according to Sing Tao Daily.

However, HSBC HOLDINGS' global private banking department will continue to provide wealth management services to single and joint family office clients.
