CAAM: CN 8M25 Auto Output/ Sales Cross 20M Units Each for First Time

Both production and sales volume of automobile in Mainland China crossed 20 million units for the first time from January to August 2025, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). During this period, auto production numbered 21.051 million units, up 12.7% YoY, while auto sales amounted to 21.128 million units, up 12.6% YoY. In terms of exports, 4.292 million vehicles were exported in 8M25, up 13.7% YoY. Among these, exports of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 1.532 million units, up 87.3% YoY.
