CLP Power and HKELECTRIC-SS (02638.HK) have announced their electricity tariff adjustment plans for 2026. Starting in January 2026, the average net tariff will drop by HK3.7 cents per kWh, a reduction of more than 2%.

Tse Chin-wan, Hong Kong's Secretary for Environment and Ecology, expects that the tariff adjustment will allow a typical three-person household using about 275 kWh of electricity per month to pay around HKD10 less each month.

Specifically, CLP Power will have the average net tariff reduced by HK3.7 cents or 2.6% to HK140.6 cents per kWh starting in January 2026, compared with HK144.3 cents per kWh in January 2025.

HKELECTRIC-SS will have the average net tariff cut from HK167 cents per kWh in January 2025 by HK3.7 cents or 2.2% to HK163.3 cents per kWh in January 2026.
