BlackRock (BLK.US) and Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) are hitting snags in their bid to acquire a majority stake in CKH HOLDINGS (00001.HK)'s global port operations in Europe, Reuters, citing people with the knowledge of the matter, reported. The EU antitrust regulators will investigate the transaction involving the Spanish project. As part of the Spanish transaction, MSC's subsidiary Terminal Investment Limited Holding (TiL) and BlackRock will jointly acquire control of Hutchison's terminal at the Port of Barcelona. The European Commission will launch a full investigation after completing its preliminary review of the transaction on December 10, sources divulged.
