Hong Kong's Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Alice Mak, announced this evening (28th) that the government will provide a living allowance of HKD50,000 to each household affected by the Wang Fuk Court fire starting next week. Besides, a condolence payment of HKD200,000 will be given to the families whose members were deceased. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will also arrange for personnel to assist with funeral matters. The Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, established by the government yesterday (27th), has received HKD500 million in donations from various sectors as of 5 PM; alongside the government's initial funding of HKD300 million, the total is added to approximately HKD800 million.
