SENSETIME-W Plans 8%+ Discounted Shr Placing to Raise Net $3.15B

SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) announced that it had entered into a Placing Agreement with the Placing Agents to place 1.75 billion new Class B shares, representing 4.4% of the enlarged issued Class B shares and 4.3% of the enlarged issued shares, at the Placing Price of HKD1.8 per Placing Share, an 8.6% discount compared to yesterday's (17th) closing price of HKD1.97. The gross proceeds amount to HKD3.15 billion. The company stated that the net proceeds from the Placing, nearly HKD3.15 billion, will be allocated as follows: 30% to support the development of the Company’s core businesses, including building an industry-leading AI Cloud and continuously expanding the scale of the Company’s AI infrastructure (SenseCore) while increasing its localization ratio; 30% to support the R&D of Generative AI, as well as the development and commercialization of the Company’s Multimodality Large Model; 20% to explore the technological integration and practice of AI in innovative vertical fields, including but not limited to the application of AI in finance, education and other industries; 20% as the Company’s general working capital.
