The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration (NEA) have issued several opinions on promoting the large-scale development of concentrated solar power (CSP). The overall goal is to actively advance CSP project construction, continuously expand new application scenarios for CSP development and utilization, and ensure the large-scale growth of the sector. By 2030, the total installed CSP capacity is expected to reach around 15 million kW, with the cost per kilowatt-hour roughly on par with coal power. The technology should achieve international leadership and full independent controllability, while the industry moves toward autonomous market-oriented and industrialized development, becoming a new energy sector with strong international competitiveness.
