The 2025 China Game Industry Annual Conference was held in mid-December in Shanghai, Citi Research published a research report saying. During the event, the China Game Industry Annual Report was released, highlighting policy support, innovation and evergreen games drove healthy growth in the domestic market. The expansion of self-developed games into overseas markets, increased application rate of generative AI, empowerment through the digital economy, effective minor-protection measures, talent development and other trends contributed to the continuous growth of China's game market this year. Looking ahead to 2026, the broker believed that China's game market will achieve sustainable growth driven by increased interactive applications of generative AI and attractive gameplay. Citi Research reiterated TENCENT (00700.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK) and CENTURY HUATONG (002602.SZ) as its sector top picks, all rated at Buy.
