In a recent interview with The New York Times, US President Donald Trump said that he does not need international law. As the Commander-in-Chief, he is not bound by traditional international law norms when deploying military forces globally or intervening in sovereignty.

When asked if there are any limits to his global power, Trump said, 'Yes, there is one thing. My own morality. Only my own mind can stop me.' Trump even emphasized that he doesn't need international law. However, he later added that he doesn't want to hurt anyone.
