With anti-government protests in Iran having entered their third week, human rights groups reported at least 544 deaths. Meanwhile, CNN, citing two US officials, said President Donald Trump is weighing the possibility of military intervention in Iran.

Soaring risk aversion has driven international gold prices to record highs. New York gold futures for February delivery rose to a historic high of USD4,612 per ounce during Asian trading. They last printed at USD4,607, up 2.4%.
