<H Shrs>HSI Opens 350 Pts Higher; BABA-W Soars 5%; WUXI APPTEC Surges 4.7%

The NASDAQ Golden Dragon China Index rallied over 4%, among which Alibaba ADR (BABA.US) rocketed 10%, leading to a higher opening for Hong Kong stocks in the morning session. The HSI opened 350 points higher, or 1.3%, at 26,958; the HSCEI opened 115 points higher, or 1.2%, at 9,335; and the HSTECH opened 113 points higher, or 1.9%, at 5,976. In the tech sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened 5% higher at HK$162. Under the same series, ALI HEALTH (00241.HK) opened 4.9% higher. TENCENT (00700.HK) opened 2.2% higher at HK$637. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) opened 1.4% higher. JD-SW (09618.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 2.1% and 2.9% higher, respectively. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), and BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) opened 1.4-1.9% higher. In addition, LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) and KINGSOFT (03888.HK) opened 2.4% higher. SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) and KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK) opened 2.7% and 3.5% higher respectively. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) opened 1.2% higher. Among chip stocks, SMIC (00981.HK) opened 0.1% lower at HK$75.2, while HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) opened 0.5% higher at HK$92. In the auto sector, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) opened 3% and 4.5% higher, respectively. GEELY AUTO (00175.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), LI AUTO-W (02015.HK), and LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) opened 1.4-2.1% higher. For pharmaceuticals, WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) projected its net profit to shot up by nearly 103% YoY, and its share price opened 4.7% higher. CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK) received acceptance from the National Medical Products Administration for its innovative drug listing application, and its share price opened 0.3% higher.
