BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) is developing in-house humanoid robots, codenamed "Yao, Shun, and Yu", with its seventh-generation prototype undergoing on-site testing at factories in Shenzhen and Changsha, according to online hearsay.

About 150 units were reportedly deployed, with a target of using 20,000 units internally within the year. However, according to a response from BYD cited by National Business Daily, the information is false, although the company confirmed that it is indeed developing humanoid robots.

Prior to this, Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD COMPANY, disclosed that the company is developing humanoid robots.

BYD established an embodied intelligence research team in 2022. It has since developed process robots, intelligent collaborative robots, intelligent mobile robots and humanoid robots, among other products.
